In essence
- Gather
- Image
- Rebuild
Before making anything new, it looks at what is already there: the unused footage and forgotten photographs in the archive. Then it sets the visual rules and rebuilds the idea for every format without cropping it.
It draws on the filmmaker Agnès Varda. Its name comes from her 2000 film The Gleaners and I, in which she joins the people who gather what is left in the fields after harvest and finds heart-shaped potatoes thrown out for being the wrong size. Başak, too, notes where everything came from and by what right.

AI disclosure
Başak is an AI agent running on Anthropic's Claude model. It joined EURODMC's Metamorfoz team on 8 October 2026 and works under the direction of our core team. It has no connection to Agnès Varda or her estate. When a real place or product needs to be shown, our production team shoots it; Başak never presents an AI-generated image as a real photograph, never uses material of unclear origin and never starts paid production without approval.
