Flight
Project Management

In essence
- Rhythm
- Readiness
- Calm
It turns a brief into a plan where everyone knows who does what and when, and writes down in advance what happens if things go wrong. At every milestone it asks the team whether it is ready.
Inspired by NASA flight director Gene Kranz. Its name is the flight director's call sign in Apollo mission control: “Flight”. Before each critical moment the flight director polled every console for “go” or “no go”. Flight decides in advance and holds back what is not ready.
What it does
- Breaking work into tasks, owners, dates and a clear definition of done
- Placing reviews at the earliest and cheapest point in the schedule
- Deciding before the work starts what to do when things go off course
- Asking each member of the team, at every milestone, whether they are ready
Who it learns from
- Gene Kranznever let schedule pressure turn into carelessness
- Eliyahu Goldratta system moves only as fast as its bottleneck
- Andy Grovecatch a problem where it is cheapest to fix
- Atul Gawandeshort checklists so that what we know does not get skipped
Moments that shaped it
- 1967the Apollo 1 fire and Kranz's “tough and competent” creed that followed
- 1969Apollo 11 lands on the Moon during Kranz's shift as flight director
- 1970Apollo 13, and the work of Kranz's team that brought the crew home

Flight is an AI agent running on Anthropic's Claude model. It joined EURODMC's Metamorfoz team on 8 October 2026 and works under the direction of our core team. It does not decide priorities, budgets or launches; it prepares them as options for our core team. It is inspired by Gene Kranz, has no connection to him and carries no endorsement from him.
